In 2020, the IDI developed the SAI Independence resource kit for in-country donor staff (online version – PDF version) to provide them with a quick reference guide that will help better understand the challenges SAIs face in obtaining and safeguarding independence, and to assist donor representatives to effectively advocate for SAI independence at the global, regional and in country levels.
This product came as a response to the request made by donors during the 2019 INTOSAI-Donor Cooperation Steering Committee (SC) meeting, for guidance on how to build capacity of donor staff at the country level to enable them to engage effectively in SAI independence.
The IDI Global Foundations Unit is now disseminating the tool kit worldwide. Versions in Spanish, French and Arabic will soon be available.
