The INTOSAI Regions Coordination Platform (IRCP), jointly led by the INTOSAI Development Initiative (IDI) and the INTOSAI Capacity Building Committee (CBC), serves as a key mechanism for coordination across the INTOSAI community. At the 2026 bi-annual IRCP meeting in Washington, organised and led by IDI, the CBC facilitated a discussion bringing together Goal 2 Operational Plan contributors to explore practical ways of strengthening coordination and accelerating progress under the Goal 2 Operational Plan.
Around 80 representatives of INTOSAI regions, goal committees and other stakeholder organisations gathered at the World Bank headquarters in Washington for the week, also including the meetings of MOSAIC, the INTOSAI-Donor Cooperation (IDC) and the INTOSAI Policy Finance and Administration Committee (PFAC). The IRCP programme opened with the session “Strengthening coordination, visibility and results reporting – a discussion informed by the INTOSAI Goal 2 Operational Plan”, facilitated by the CBC.
The Washington discussion marked the latest stage in a process of IRCP meetings that began in Oslo in 2022, followed by Bucharest in 2024. The meetings in Oslo, Bucharest and Washington trace a clear progression in the implementation of Goal 2 and show how it has developed from identifying shared priorities to mapping progress and strengthening joint action. Building on these earlier IRCP discussions, this year’s session explored how INTOSAI can strengthen collaboration and coordination across Goal 2, using the Operational Plan to identify overlaps, gaps and practical opportunities for joint action.

Please find the Goal 2 Operational Plan implementation analysis and accompanying excel sheet Updated G2OP Overview here.
Thus, for the first time, participants had a consolidated view of activities across all indicator areas, enabling more informed discussions on progress, gaps and opportunities for collaboration. This analysis shifted the conversation beyond previously identified priorities and partnerships towards a closer examination of what is driving progress,
INTOSAI members and stakeholders are encouraged to use the mapping (found above) as a resource to learn more about activities across the ten indicator areas, identify potential areas for cooperation and draw on existing products, experiences and approaches. The resource can support coordination, reduce unnecessary duplication and help identify opportunities for joint action across the INTOSAI community.
The CBC Secretariat extends its sincere thanks to all G2OP contributors that made the mapping and progress update possible.
