Dear CBC colleagues, dear friends,
After seven years in the rewarding position as Auditor General of Sweden and five most inspiring and exciting years as the CBC vice chair, the time has come for me to bid farewell to these important roles – and to all of you.
Throughout my tenure, I have been privileged to work alongside many of you in our shared mission to build capacity in supreme audit institutions to ensure transparency, professionalism, accountability, and good governance. The cooperation and exchange of knowledge within the framework of the Capacity Building Committee have not only strengthened the capacity of our individual SAIs but also advanced the principles of democracy and straightened the path to auditor professionalism globally.
Having had the wonderful opportunity of regular encounters with CBC members and stakeholders has been an important source of knowledge and inspiration for me personally and in my work as auditor general. Being the vice chair of INTOSAIs Capacity Building Committee, has provided crucial insights and a deeper understanding of mutual challenges – and acknowledging progress. I am deeply grateful for the exchange of ideas and experiences we have shared, and I hope that this invaluable cooperation will continue for a long time to come.
With these words I want to express my deep gratitude to each of you for your sincere engagement. The steps we have taken to advance the capacity of SAIs, the relationships we have built and the lessons we have learned together will remain with me. I am grateful for having been a part of it.
As I step down, I am pleased to hand over my responsibilities to my successor, Christina Gellerbrant Hagberg as the new vice chair of the CBC who you will meet in due course.
Thank you once again for the privilege of working with you. I wish you all continued success in your important work.
Warmest regards,
Helena Lindberg
