25-28 June representative (from the secretary general, presidency, and CBC/Training Committee) from INTOSAI’s seven regional organizations, AFROSAI, ARABOSAI, ASOSAI, CAROSAI, EUROSAI, OLACEFS and PASAI, and three subregional organizations, AFROSAI-E, ASEANSAI and CREFIAF, attended the first ever INTOSAI-Regions Coordination Platform together with representatives from the INTOSAI PSC, CBC, KSC, PFAC, the General Secretariat, IDI, the Standing Committee on Emerging Issues, the INTOSAI Journal and the current and future chair of INTOSAI.
The coordination platform was agreed during the meeting of the CBC Regional Capacity Development Forum held in Graz, Austria, in connection with the meeting of the INTOSAI Governing Board in November 2017.
The purpose of the coordination platform is ‘to provide a single platform to INTOSAI organs and regional organisations for tactical and operational coordination and alignment of common efforts, exploring synergies, tracking and evaluation of progress, and knowledge sharing’.
Discussions covered a range of strategic issues, including ISSAI-implementation, INTOSAI communication and information management, capacity development efforts, the strategic development plan for the INTOSAI Framework for Professional Pronouncement and professional education for SAI auditors. The capacity and funding of INTOSAI Regional Organizations was also an issue for discussion.
