Key capacity-building objectives for the region

The OLACEFS Capacity Building Committee aims to promote and manage the development of professional and institutional capacities of the SAIs of the Organisation, in order to contribute to increasing the effectiveness of management and the modernisation of public administration.

Under this approach, we have adopted the following lines of action for the benefit of SAIs, including the progress made by the International Organisation of Supreme Audit Institutions (INTOSAI) in this area.

In order to achieve the above, the Committee has set itself the following objectives:

  1. To strengthen the process of capacity building for audit effectiveness and OLACEFS members;
  2. Promote comprehensive capacity building programmes at both the national and regional levels;
  3. To develop competencies, to be applied and/or promoted in OLACEFS members;
  4. Collect, order and incorporate into the Committee’s operational planning all capacity building requirements submitted by OLACEFS members and OLACEFS bodies; and,
  5. Formulate an operational plan for professional capacity building for members, including a proposal for prioritisation of subjects and programmes suggested by members, as appropriate, for discussion and approval by the Board of Directors, in accordance with OLACEFS strategic guidelines and budgetary availability.
